Structured Products

Benefits

Who could benefit from structured products?
In the search for diversification across asset classes, the structured product can have a beneficial rôle to play.
Investors cautious about taking on, or increasing, direct exposure to markets, but who would still like a share in the superior upside that those markets can produce, can select from products that offer various combinations of market participation and capital protection.
Similarly, investors whose priority is guaranteed capital preservation will find a solution among this product group.
At the same time, these investments offer a means of accessing asset classes that would not usually be available through traditional investment funds. The earlier, simple products are being replaced by new offerings that can take commodities, hedge funds and foreign exchange markets as their underlying assets. The flexibility can extend to a mix of different asset classes, indices or baskets of individual equities.
It is this potential diversity that can reduce volatility as part of an overall investment strategy.
