Appointment of Director

The Board of Latchways plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Pickering as a non-executive director of Latchways plc with immediate effect. Ian will become the chairman of Latchways' Audit Committee following the conclusion of the 2011 audit.

Ian is a chartered accountant. He is currently a non executive director of Coventry Building Society and the Bedford Hospital NHS Trust, and is the chairman of their respective Audit Committees. Ian also sits on the Auditing Practices Board and is a member of the council of Cranfield University.

Ian was Chief Executive of Manganese Bronze Holdings PLC until 31 July 2006.

No further disclosures are necessary in respect of Ian Pickering's appointment under paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
