As indicated in the annual financial report announcement released on 28 March 2012, the Board of Aberdeen Asian Income Fund Limited is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Charles Clarke as an independent non-executive Director of the Company with effect from today.
Mr Peter Arthur, Chairman, commented:
"I am very pleased to welcome Mr Clarke to the Board. Charles is a Jersey residentially-qualified graduate chartered accountant and former senior partner of KPMG in the Channel Islands who had previously worked for KPMG in Kuala Lumpur and will bring a wealth of international business experience to the Board."
Mr Clarke is a non-executive director of a number of companies including SG Hambros Bank Limited where he is chairman of the audit committee and Phoenix Group Holdings where he is a member of the audit and investment committees.
There are no other disclosures required to be made for Mr Clarke in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) - (6) of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules.
