Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc ("the Company") announces that on 04 July 12 it purchased through Bank of America Merrill Lynch 1,500,000 ordinary shares at an average price of 268.9905 pence per share. 

These shares will be cancelled.

Following the above, the Company holds 10,242,164 ordinary shares as treasury shares. The total number of ordinary shares in issue is 2,448,131,155 (excluding ordinary shares held as treasury shares). 

This number 2,448,131,155 represents the total voting rights in the Company and may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
