10 ways FE Trustnet’s new factsheets will change the way you research funds

14 January 2015

Among the many new features are a customisation tool and a way of drilling down into individual share classes.

FE Trustnet is set to reveal new and improved factsheets, tailored to make it easier than ever before for advisers and self-directed investors to research and analyse investment portfolios.

The new factsheets, which are due to launch later this month, will allow users to access all the key information for a fund, but in a cleaner, simpler and easier to use format.

Users are also able to make use of all of parent company FE’s fund and manager ratings to identify the best funds and narrow down their search to focus on vehicles which invest in specific sectors, asset classes and regions.

Here are the key changes:

1)     Factsheets are customisable – you can highlight the information that is most important to you.

2)     We’ve switched from a fund level factsheet to a unit level factsheet so you can differentiate between different share classes.

3)     Factsheets are streamlined for easier navigation and more efficient use.

4)     The new charting tool is bigger than ever before, making it easier to analyse performance, volatility and so on.

5)     Factsheets give you direct access to high-quality news and analysis from the FE Trustnet editorial team, as well as related content from the fund provider.

6)     Factsheets contain FE’s market-leading ratings and research.

7)     Functionality has vastly improved. FE Trustnet’s new factsheets are working harder and faster so you don’t have to.

8)     Factsheets put the spotlight on fund managers. You can find out more information about a fund’s managers and their historical performance without leaving the page.

9)     For those of you who aren’t ready to make the switch, you can revert back to FE Trustnet’s classic factsheet.

10)  Our new look is more than just a factsheet. It acts as a research centre for funds – one central hub where you can find everything you need to know.

Mike Deverell (pictured right), investment manager at Equilibrium Asset Management, has had a sneak peek at the new factsheets. He said: “The new factsheets look great and contain loads of useful information. They are extremely clear and it’s easy to find what you need.”

“I really like the ability to drag and drop different sections, moving them up or down the page. This means you can put the bits you find most useful to the beginning.”

Investment director at Rowan Dartington Tim Cockerill added: “Having easy to navigate factsheets is hugely helpful. FE’s new factsheets are clean, clear and crisp – excellent.”

Ben Willis, head of research at Whitechurch Securities, is an avid user of FE Trustnet, but is pleased to see that factsheets will be improved in so many areas.

“I find the FE Trustnet site very useful, particularly when I need to reference fund information,” he said.

“FE Trustnet provides a comprehensive database of fund factsheets. If I have several funds that I want to access fundamental information on, Trustnet is the one place I can find it easily, quickly and in one place.”

Here’s a quick sneak preview of the new look factsheets, to satisfy any curiosity; there is even more information on the full versions.
