Janus Henderson Investors has launched the Janus Henderson China Equity Active Core UCITS ETF, adding a new offering to its active ETF range.
The ETF invests in a diversified portfolio of around 100 to 150 Chinese companies, balancing exposure between companies tied to structural growth themes and those with attractive valuations and improving shareholder returns.
Janus Henderson China Equity Active Core UCITS ETF is managed by Victoria Mio, Benjamin Wang and Zoey Zhu. Mio has 28 years of industry experience, while Wang has 21 years and Zhu has 13.
The ETF’s approach combines quantitative analysis with fundamental and thematic research. Janus Henderson said the process also includes portfolio optimisation and is designed to identify companies that could benefit from economic change in China while limiting active risk.
Mio, head of Greater China equities at Janus Henderson, said: “Current valuations appear attractive, while the dispersion of returns across Chinese companies and sectors creates opportunities for active managers to enhance performance.
“We believe a transparent, systematic and risk-controlled approach, coupled with a repeatable investment process, can identify China’s future winners and harness the alpha potential available in the region.”
The ETF is listed on the London Stock Exchange and has a total expense ratio of 0.39%.
