BlackRock has launched the iShares Europe Infrastructure Builders UCITS ETF to provide investors with exposure to European companies involved in building, upgrading and modernising the region’s infrastructure.
The firm said that the exchange-traded fund (ETF) has been launched at a time in which infrastructure renewal is being backed by supportive public policies and long-term investment targeting issues such as the modernisation of existing energy systems.
iShares Europe Infrastructure Builders UCITS ETF tracks the STOXX Europe Infrastructure Builders index, which houses companies that derive at least 50% of revenues from infrastructure-linked activities, spanning construction, electrification, industrial equipment, materials and logistics.
Individual holdings are capped at 8% to support diversification and manage concentration risk.
Vincent Denoiseux, head of product research and innovation at iShares EMEA, said: “As Europe invests in its infrastructure, investors are increasingly looking for ways to align their portfolios with long-term growth opportunities closer to home.”
The fund forms part of BlackRock’s thematic platform, which now houses over 30 funds with more than $20bn in collective assets.
