Quilter Investors has hired Marisol Hernandez as its new head of responsible investment to replace Eimear Toomey, who left the company earlier this year.
In her new role, Hernandez will report to chief investment officer Marcus Brookes and be responsible for the development and implementation of Quilter’s responsible investment policies.
She has 15 years of experience as a responsible investment adviser and alternative investments consultant for institutional investors, consultancy firms and the United Nations Principles of Responsible Investment (UNPRI).
Hernandez and her team will also assist portfolio manager Stuart Clark in overseeing Quilter’s responsible and sustainable ranges of the WealthSelect managed portfolio service launched earlier this year.
Brookes said: “We have come a long way in a short space of time in implementing responsible investment, but we cannot rest on our laurels. I look forward to working closely with Marisol to develop our offering further.”
Hernandez added: “There can still be a lot of confusion on terminology and approaches and as such it has become crucial to be clear and precise in what it is we want to achieve in this space, where people, profits and planet can coexist. I am excited to be part of this journey.”
