2025 was a buoyant year for the UK stock market, with the FTSE All-Share Index delivering its strongest performance in more than a decade. 2026 has seen it lose ground to a resurgent US technology sector, but it has provided some much-needed stability at a turbulent moment. This could be the start of new-found confidence in UK assets and an optimism that the UK’s long run of unpopularity may finally be drawing to a close.
