Financial Express announces joint initiative with Style Research
04 November 2010
Financial Express Analytics users will get a boost to the range of quantitative tools and measures they can access.
Financial advisers using Financial Express’ award winning Analytics fund research software will gain access to Style Research's holdings and returns-based analysis of some 5,000 European-registered equity funds.
Style Research scrutinises fund holdings to reveal a value or growth bias, and measures exposure to market capitalisation and sectors. Its Fund Profile factsheets also monitor risk, analysing tracking error, beta, and volatility. In addition, users will be able to assess a fund’s carbon footprint, corporate governance and social responsibility credentials for the first time.
The joint initiative will offer users of Analytics an arsenal of quantitative tools and measures through Style Research's data and factsheets. This will enhance IFAs' ability to monitor investment funds and conduct due diligence, helping to ensure fund holdings reflect their stated risk profile and style exposure.
Financial Express managing director Michael Holland said: "The addition is extremely timely. With the advent of RDR, IFAs need to create a paper trail tracking investment recommendations."
"Analytics is designed as a one stop shop for wide ranging, sophisticated analysis and this latest addition goes a step further in keeping IFAs well informed and facilitating in-depth fund research."
Founder of Style Research Robert Schwob added: "Our Funds Analysis and Fund Profiles provide clear and accessible information to identify not only fund managers' basic investment characteristics, but also to gain critical insights into the distinguishing nuances of their management style and direction."
"We believe that this information will give users of Financial Express Analytics the edge needed to meet and surpass client and regulatory requirements over the increasingly competitive years ahead."
